Traktionssysteme Austria (TSA) has appointed UK based electro mechanical engineering specialist Houghton International as its service partner in the UK and Ireland. Under the exclusive agreement we will provide service, maintenance and spare parts for all TSA motors and rotating machines in this region, offering local support and specialist repair services.
Robert Tencl, CEO of TSA, commented: We are very pleased to appoint Houghton International to give high quality support to our customers and end customers in the UK and Ireland.
Many of our customers have substantial projects in these countries and therefore we have to act to give the best possible support during the whole lifetime of the motor, gearbox and generators. Working with Houghton International enables us to service these requirements locally, to a very high standard.
Michael Mitten, CEO of Houghton International, added: Alongside TSA we identified a need for a reliable, high quality maintenance provider to deal with service and repairs of TSA rotating machines locally in the UK. From our dedicated overhaul and repair shop we support planned maintenance programmes and operate a 24-hour emergency call out service to reduce downtime and associated costs.
As the number of TSA products on the UK’s tracks increases, we are working closely with TSA to develop our expertise around their equipment and are ideally placed to service this demand.
TSA supply Class 455, Class 321, Variobahn, tramway motors, generators and gearboxes in the UK and Ireland and this partnership provides the UK rail industry with local access to specialist services and expertise specific to their needs.
