Houghton International wins Project of the Year at the 2019 AEMT Awards

We have recently won Project of the Year at this year’s AEMT Awards for a full stator rewind and core rebuild of a 26 tonne, 10 MVA nuclear safety significant Brush generator, bringing it back up to specification.

Working to the agreed budget and timescales, Houghton International delivered a high-quality repair that adhered to the latest quality, environmental and safety regulations required for nuclear applications.

In addition, two of our employees, Derek Fairley and Joe Rowan were shortlisted for the Rising Star award, which recognises an employee who has made a significant contribution to the company/industry.

Michael Mitten, CEO of Houghton International, commented: “Winning Project of the Year is a fantastic achievement and a testament to both the capabilities of our business and the commitment of our staff.

“We firmly believe it is our ability to work to such a high level in order to meet nuclear industry standards and our project management capabilities that sets us apart from our competitors and to be recognised for this at an important industry event such as the AEMT Awards is brilliant.

“We are also proud to have two employees, Derek Fairley and Joe Rowan, shortlisted as finalists for the Rising Star Award. It’s fantastic to be able to recognise and celebrate the hard work and commitment we see every day.”

The AEMT Awards showcases the very best achievements from the entire electrical and mechanical trades sector in a global celebration of business and professional excellence.
