Throughout the ongoing COVID pandemic Houghton International has continued to provide essential services to our customers, many of which operate in critical industries such as healthcare, transport, power generation, manufacturing and water. It has been vital we continue to serve our customers and support them in the delivery of the essential services they provide across the country.
The health and wellbeing of our staff, customers and suppliers is of the highest priority and we have been monitoring the situation and planning accordingly in line with government and HSE regulations and advice. This has included completing the HSE COVID-secure risk assessment to identify and reduce, or where possible eliminate, transmission risk. At each of our sites we have displayed the government-issued guidance for reference and accompanying notice to confirm that we have completed the necessary risk assessment and are complying with the guidance.
The adjustments we have made include additional staff training, increased hygiene measures including regular cleaning and hand sanitising facilities, physical distancing, and risk mitigation where suitable distancing is not possible. Shift patterns have also been altered to reduce the number of employees present at the same time and breaks are staggered to aid with social distancing. We also have specific risk assessments and guidance in place for visitors to our sites for additional safety.
It is important we ensure business continuity without compromising on quality or safety. As the UK and global situations continue to evolve we are constantly adapting and monitoring all aspects to protect the safety of our team and to continue to support our customers in any way we can. We are all living in unprecedented and challenging times but we are confident in the measures we have taken and in our team to continue to deliver the high standard we know our customers expect.
