New jobs created as Houghton International celebrates record year

Following its most successful year to date electro mechanical engineering specialist Houghton International is now recruiting for at least 15 new jobs to help support further growth ambitions in 2019.

Having recorded 20% year on year growth for a number of years the Newcastle-based company, which improves the performance of electro mechanical assets around the world, is currently recruiting for a range of roles including mechanical fitters, administrators and sales staff.

A recruitment open morning is being held at the business’ Walker head office on 23rd March to provide more information to potential applicants about the business and the roles available. Staff, including heads of each of Houghton International’s departments, will be on hand to answer questions and tours will be provided around the business, providing a chance for applicants to see the work they would be undertaking.

Pamela Lamming, HR Director at Houghton International, commented: “We have continued to see excellent growth across the business with another record year and increasing demand for our products and services globally despite the wider economic uncertainty surrounding Brexit.

“A career in electro mechanical engineering offers long term stability. Our business strategy is focused around fundamental needs such as water, power and transport and we have long term contracts in place until 2025 and beyond. We believe that we offer attractive career and development potential.

“Further recruitment is needed to support our growth. We currently have a number of roles available and we expect to recruit for another 20 roles later in the year in order to deliver our targets for 2019.
