Every year Houghton International welcomes a new intake of apprentices, who will split their time between college and work over four years until they become fully qualified with a range of industry-recognised qualifications.
We have recently welcomed our most recent intake, with eight new apprentices beginning to settle in to the business and develop their skills as they join the operational team. They will be supported by the wider team, including the other apprentices, as they get to grips with their new roles.
In addition, two new apprentices will be commencing their first year at college, where they will learn both the practical and theoretical side of their programme before joining the business next year. They have been successfully appointed and will begin their apprenticeship in September with Tyne North Training.
Apprentices have always been an integral part of Houghton International’s workforce, and they are key to ensuring the future of our business. We are committed to investing in the development of our people so we hire based on attitude and identify individuals with the potential to excel, then deliver training to ensure they have the skills they need to do so.
