Houghton International has been awarded the title of SME of the Year at the Make UK National Awards 2022. Make UK describes themselves as the representative voice of UK manufacturing, designed to help British manufacturers compete, innovate and grow.
SME of the Year is awarded to businesses who have shown exceptional initiative, boldness and dynamism, as well as exemplary management practices. Houghton International was commended for demonstrating such criteria through their considerable investment in employees, offering a range of training and development opportunities as well as various staff benefits such as a ‘Sharing Success’ staff bonus scheme.
The electro mechanical specialist also took home the Runner-Up award in the Developing Future Talent Category, with judges praising their company culture, people strategy and long-standing apprenticeship scheme.
