Electro mechanical engineering specialist Houghton International has recently completed a major project on behalf of A&P, a leading UK engineering services and fabrication group providing tailor-made solutions for customers in the global marine and energy sectors.
Following a successful tender the company was tasked with the overhaul and rewind of a hundred year old 500HP dock pump at A&P North East’s drydock at Teesport.
Throughout the process A&P staff visited Houghton International’s workshops for regular progress meetings. The motor was returned to site ahead of schedule with alignment and recommissioning carried out by A&P and Houghton International working together.
“The repairs and rewind were carried out in a meticulous manner by the Houghton International operatives who treated the motor as if it was their personal property.
Throughout the overhaul and rewind Houghton International have been a very professional company to deal with and have taken the care I would expect and is required on a motor of this size and age. The motor and pump set is now performing as good as when new.”
