As a production operative you will be asked to carry out the following duties

  • Undertake tasks associated with High voltage coil manufacturing which includes, but isn’t limited to Hot pressing, Taping, Looping, Buffing, Pinning, High Voltage Testing, Shaping, Re-shaping & Stagger lashing.
  • To dismantle customer equipment using the appropriate tools and techniques
  • To undertake the analysis of the mechanical and/or electrical work required to repair the equipment to specification or other instruction
  • Take responsibility for cleanliness of the workshop ensuring all work areas/facilities are clean and tidy.
  • Ensure all activities meet and integrate with Houghton International and their customer’s health and safety, legal, cultural, environmental policies and procedures
  • To ensure paperwork is complete to the required standard
  • To ensure quality procedures are followed and good quality is maintained within their tasks
  • Willingness to take on tasks that may be outside their normal set of responsibilities


Person Specification

  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment
  • Good level of aptitude as will need to quickly learn manufacturing processes and set up tasks
  • Basic computer literacy is desirable
  • Tenacity, resilience, a positive disposition, a `can-do` attitude and a high degree of determination to succeed
  • Strong appreciation of continuous improvement
  • Focus on delivering excellent customer care and satisfaction
  • Maintain and promote the vision, values and mission of the company showing at all times
  • To promote a professional and positive work ethos at all times whilst ensuring all work is carried out in a safe, timely and economical manner.
  • A team player with a flexible approach

Experience in this field would be advantageous but not essential as on job training will be provided. This commitment to training aligns itself to one of our core values which is hire for attitude and train for skill.

We currently have two vacancies within our HVC division and are looking to encourage passionate individuals to join our team.

Your hours of work will be 39 hours per week over 5 days between 7:30am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 7.30am to 3.00pm Friday.
