Appointment of Technical Account Manager

Specialist traction motor and MA set repairer Houghton International have appointed Chris Robson as Technical Account Manager.

The appointment follows a productive 2013 for the company which saw attendance at Railtex, the UK’s leading rail event covering railway equipment, systems and services; the creation of an apprentice exchange programme with South West Trains; the granting of a UK patent for HiTRANS™, its transient dynamic Motor Alternator Set test process and sponsorship of the annual Golden Spanner Awards which recognise excellence in rolling stock maintenance, where the gold award for the most reliable fleet in the ‘Ex BR EMU’ category was won by South West Trains (Class 455) whose traction motors are repaired by Houghton International.

“We are extremely pleased that Chris will be able to utilise his extensive operational and technical experience gained with the company in this new position that has been created to enable us to accelerate our plan to lead the UK traction motor and MA set repair market in terms of technical innovation and customer service .”
