Quality Control
We have developed a rigorous quality policy with processes and procedures to ensure that everything we do is of the highest standard.
Houghton International operates a Quality Management System that is certified by BSI to ISO9001:2015.
All processes and procedures meet the requirements of our accreditations to ensure the highest quality of service at all times. Work is carried out in accordance with strict specifications determined either by us or our customers with full traceability throughout. Our competency management program ensures that work is only carried out and checked by technicians competent to do so and we continuously monitor the performance of our suppliers, particularly those that supply safety critical products or services.
We hold supplier approvals issued by the following associations:
EASA Accreditation signifies that Houghton International has successfully demonstrated that it complies with EASA AR100 and follows the prescribed good practices to consistently deliver quality electromechanical repairs that maintain or improve AC electric motor efficiency and reliability.
Achieving IECEx Certificate of Conformity signifies that Houghton International’s facilities have been independently assessed and found to have appropriate equipment and competent staff, therefore demonstrating its capability to safely repair and overhaul equipment used in explosive atmospheres.
Houghton International is an approved First Point Assessment (FPAL) supplier, the world’s leading oil and gas industry supply chain database. FPAL is the direct route to business in the oil and gas industry and works to identify, qualify, evaluate and monitor suppliers on behalf of its purchasing members.
Houghton International currently holds the Achilles UVDB Verify Category B2 accreditation. The accreditation allows Houghton International to pre-qualify as an approved supplier to the utilities sector – a process that makes it easier for companies in the sector to manage their supply chain risks and to comply with EU procurement regulations.
RISAS is the benchmark for quality in safety critical repair for the Rail industry and, through a rigorous assessment process, it demonstrates Houghton International’s capabilities and quality of work. Our accreditation covers multiple product groups including: AC and DC traction motors, motor alternators (MA sets), transformers and inductor coils, gearboxes, and oil pumps.
