Industry standards

Our workshop is EASA accredited, meaning that Houghton International has successfully demonstrated that it complies with EASA AR100 and follows the prescribed good practices to consistently deliver quality electromechanical repairs that maintain or improve AC electric motor efficiency and reliability. We are also a IECEx certified service facility which demonstrates our capability to safely repair and overhaul equipment used in explosive atmospheres.

Our Achilles category B2 and UVDB accredited workshop has the latest facilities to accommodate large machines, including a 40-tonne crane and dynamic testing capabilities and we can provide full load testing as required to guarantee performance after the work has been undertaken.

Furthermore, our RISAS accreditation provides clear evidence of robust supply chain processes and control. The Railway Industry Supplier Approval Scheme (RISAS) is a proven, reliable way for the rail industry to assess and approve critical product suppliers, supported by the safety regulator. Transferable across all industries and sitting alongside our other independently audited certifications for quality management, this means customers can be confident we have robust procedures and processes in place to deliver our commitments.

Cybersecurity

It is important our customers feel reassured that their data is in safe hands. Houghton International is Cyber Essentials certified, demonstrating the business has implemented controls to strengthen cyber defences and protect against common kinds of cyber attacks. The UK Government backed scheme helps protect against attacks such as phishing, malware, ransomware, password guessing and network attacks. The Cyber Essentials certification confirms Houghton International has applied the five key cybersecurity controls recommended for businesses by the National Cyber Security Centre.
