The pictures are of a pioneering coil design we manufactured in an innovative new collaboration of ideas between Houghton International, Rolls Royce and the MoD. The coil is a Transverse Flux Motor and is intended for use as a groundbreaking innovation in Navy Frigate propulsion.

The series of four prototype coils required a radical new design and manufacturing process to be evolved in order to produce the circular shape and unique series of connections. The coil demonstrates our ability to be highly agile in our manufacturing processes, proving we can react to the mandate our customers dictate, and produce the end product which is not only electrically capable but physically, and economically manufacturable.
