Hi Flex - From Nigeria to Norway

The Background
One of our clients came to us Hydro powered alternator dating back to the second world war. The challenge for us here was to not only manufacture the drop-in concentric coils but to wind them, complete with cranked group, in-situ on a cold mountainside in Norway.

The Houghton International Solution
While designed specifically for tropical climates, the HI Flex system proved invaluable in this instance, as it meant the coils were easy to wind, and that we could complete the job in-situ as there were no varnishing facilities.

The job was completed using an air-drying varnish product and we were able to satisfy the needs of another HI customer.
