EMS Administrator

Electro Mechanical Engineering Staff Careers Apprenticeships Apprentices Team - Houghton InternationalWe are looking for an enthusiastic and diligent administrator who will be self-motivated, exceptionally organised and can prioritise own workload. You will support the EMS business unit with the administration function by carrying out all administrative tasks, gathering data and assembling cost information.

This is an interesting and varied opportunity for a team player who enjoys delivering professional and high standards in a fast-paced environment.

Key duties include:

  • Gathering relevant data to produce statistical reports
  • Identifying opportunities for new and existing business; informing the Sales team of potential new business
  • Maintaining data analysis
  • Producing Word documents as requested
  • Populating spreadsheets through the use of Excel
  • Entering and booking new jobs on to system
  • Recording employee time management and sickness information
  • Assembling cost information for invoicing
  • Raising orders
  • Answering incoming telephone calls
  • Handling queries
  • Other duties relevant to role
  • Providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers 

Typical qualities of the successful candidate will include:

  • Previous experience of working within a similar role in an engineering environment
  • Previous experience of working in a fast paced environment
  • GCSE grades A-C in Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Strong IT skills with knowledge of Microsoft Packages
  • Being a team player with good communication skills & being able to work with a mixture of staff at various levels.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and taking responsibility for key deliverables
  • Flexibility
  • Attention to detail and being able to work on own initiative
  • Proven commitment to change and continuous improvement
  • Willingness to take on tasks that may be outside their normal set of responsibilities
  • Ensure activities meet and integrate with Houghton International and their clients’ health and safety, legal, cultural, environmental policies and procedures.
